Job Summary: This role will be responsible for a range of general accounting functions in support of the overall Accounting team. Primary Responsibilities: * Ensure compliance with accounting principles, Staples policies, and service level agreements (SLAs) * Ensure delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all SLAs with a focus on continuous improvement * Perform reconciliation duties in an accurate and timely manner * Support preparation of standard and ad hoc reports * Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking and resolving discrepancies and documentation problems * Maintains regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information and/or to correct transactions * Respond to customer inquiries * Ensure confidentiality of information as related to financials and/or employee information, etc. * Required to assist in monthly accounting close process * Participate in special projects as assigned by management Basic: * High school diploma and/or GED * Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience Preferred: * Associates and/or technical degree * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Attention to detail * Strong written and oral communication skills; especially with associates within and across departments, Experience in handling a high volume of work. * Highly organized, and able to meet tight deadlines * Excellent PC skills including Excel and Access /Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
