Primary Function: To assist the Director of IT Staff and Employee Development in building a high performing staff of IT professionals, while ensuring their direct reports have the opportunity and support to grow as IT professionals.Duties and Responsibilities:* Participate in screening and interviewing of IT job candidates.* Ensure successful onboarding and off-boarding of employees by following established procedures and best practices.* Collaborate with employees to establish their short term and long term career goals* Engage in professional development of employees by assessing strengths, weaknesses and opportunities and providing constructive feedback, training and support.* Ensure each employee's job description, compensation and placement in the IT department is commensurate with that employee's abilities and job performance by engaging in periodic performance reviews.* Provide job description, compensation and placement (promotions, demotions, terminations, team and role changes) recommendations to the Director of IT Staff and Employee Development. * Create and maintain training programs for the technology roles of direct reports.* Ensure employees have completed necessary training and achieved necessary competencies for their respective role(s).* Administer routine HR tasks such as leave requests, employee action forms, and time sheet approvals (if applicable).* Address IT personnel issues and/or conflicts among direct reports (not to supersede responsibilities and standard procedures of Human Resource department).* Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure awareness of employee availability including joint approval of leave requests.* Provide input to the Director of IT Staff and Development for IT job descriptions, pay ranges, competency models, career road-mapping and professional development for IT roles and positions of direct reports.* Develop and maintain excellent communication and collaboration with Corporate Human Resource department.* Maintain professional relationships with individuals at all levels of corporate hierarchy.* Serve as professional role model for all IT employees by consistently upholding and championing corporate and department values and demonstrating exemplary professionalism.* Perform other duties as required.Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent related work experience is required.* Minimum 5 years' experience working in an Information Technology or Software Development position is required.* Minimum 3 years' experience managing professional employees is preferred.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.Essential Job Functions:* Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding client information; ensure proper destruction of confidential documents, and compliance with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) rules and regulations.* Ability to type at a computer terminal and view input is required.* Ability to sit for extended periods of time is required.* Ability to provide rapid response and handle periodic heavy workloads.
