To learn more, visit us at Software Engineer The software engineer contributes directly in the design, development, and integration of assigned environments. Software engineers are expected to have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures as well as more in depth knowledge of select areas in computer engineering and apply those to develop and maintain Unitrends products. Software engineers are expected to have knowledge in environments including but not limited to: UNIX, Linux, Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, virtualization, cloud, web, storage, applications, and databases. Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities: Design, develop, and debug code modules from requirements definition through release to customersDetermine project scope, and deliver quality code through design, coding and testing phase within specified timelines, tracking and reporting progress as required.Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, to upgrade interfaces, and to improve performance.Advise customer about or perform maintenance of software system.Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems.Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications: Experience with one or more of the following environments: UNIX, Linux, Windows, Netware, iSeries, virtualization, cloud, web, storage, applications, and databases.Excellent motivation and analytical skills with strong technical abilities.Ability to work independently or in a team environmentAbility to organize and plan work to meet deadlines Education and/or Experience: A four (4) year bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in computer engineering or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in software engineering of C and/or C++ or an equivalent combination of skills, knowledge and abilities.
