Sr. Database Administrator Responsibilities: Assists (at a senior level) with the support, maintenance, security, and availability of a SQL environment Designs, develops, implements, and maintains database, procedures, and functions that accommodate changing business priorities and technological changes while providing availability, scalability, performance, recoverability, reliability, and security Acts as liaison for SQL Server database performance, integration, migration, upgrade, storage, and replication strategies Focuses on performance tuning of database instances across various applications/systems to include indexing and optimizer strategies, stored procedures/triggers, partitioning, locking schemes, temporary spaces/sort area, and memory management Monitors the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime Interacts with project management and Agile development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and database development objectives Participates in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different team members to drive towards root cause identification and resolution Documents, tracks, and escalates issues as appropriate Participates in Scrum teams in support of Agile projects and end-to-end support for build, deployment, and operational activities Exercises considerable latitude, discretion, and independent judgment in determining technical objectives of assignmentsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field At least 6 years of experience in database administration, backup/recovery, performance tuning, RDBMS, SQL Server, and T-SQL At least 2 years of experience in failover clusters, high availability, DMVs, SSIS services, SSRS, Profiler, SQL tuning, ETL, SSAS, and database planning At least 1 year of experience with SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, and 2016 Experience with PowerShell and Redgate toolset Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide after hours or weekend maintenance as neededLocation: Columbia, SC Work to be performed onsiteTM Floyd & Company offers a generous array of benefits, depending on the length of assignment.
