Distribution Sales Director (UTILITIES)

A Sales Director manages the sales activities and programs. A Sales Director works with Marketing, Advertising and the Sales Management Team. Responsible for attaining monthly or annual sales targets, building up distribution channels, establishing strategic business relations, and providing idea for all strategic sales plans and their implementation. The individual is also responsible for controlling the selling costs with the objective of achieving predetermined net profit yields.

* Develop and administer a sales plan that will insure customer satisfaction, assigned quota attainment, and motivate a highly skilled staff.

* Determine the annual sales and gross profit plan by implementing sales strategies and analyzing trends and results in conjunction with the regional and business unit management team.

* Establish sales objectives and developing sales quota.

* Forecast expected sales volume and profit for existing and new product lines and customers.
Insure the establishment and expansion of supplier relationships at the national, regional and local levels.

* Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with market supply demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors.

* Direct Account Representatives and Executives on quotations, proposals, project order management techniques, and customer complaint resolution.

* Recruiting, selecting, insuring the orientation, training of employees, counseling, disciplining employees, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

* Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.

* Knowledgeable of business and management principles : strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership techniques.

* Ability to present a professional sale approach to helping people achieve personal and positional goals.

* Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion, interpersonal skills, time management skills and excellent communication skills.



EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

5 years of professional sales experience in distribution (UTILITIES).

3 years supervising and managing staff and programs at a national, district or regional level.

In:depth knowledge of the distribution industry.

Utilities Experience.

Sales Experience.

People Management.

Business Development.

Territory strategy.

Computer skills.
