Job Description:/h3:
The Benefits Specialist will manage and develop processes to facilitate the successful administration of the organizations health, welfare and retirement benefit plans. SSIs benefits offerings are robust and valuable, the processes developed will ensure the plans operate smoothly and that our employees realize the value of these offerings.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and manage or execute standardized processes to facilitate day:to:day benefit activities that ensure programs are administered in an accurate and timely manor.
Interact with employees, retirees and others who need assistance with benefit matters.
Liaise with counterparts at other Company subsidiaries to provide required support and training.
Ensure the Company is compliant with all statutory, compliance and audit requirements. Monitor benefit trends both internally and externally to ensure market competitiveness.
Other Job Functions
Understand, document and maintain relationship with each benefit provider to ensure that SS is timely and accurate with all requests
Maintain accurate benefit records and establish process improvements for recordkeeping
First point of contact for all outside vendors as it relates to administration of benefits provided to our employees
Resolve small to intermediate matters with providers and elevate needed matters accordingly
Provide reports based on a pre:determined timeline, create ad:hoc reports and maintain report database to ensure timely reconciliation of benefit requirements to reduce duplicate efforts
Develop, maintain and make available a list for employees regarding the appropriate point of first contact for all questions related to benefits
Establish processes with our benefit vendors on how questions and issues may be directed back to SSI if the matter could not be solved by the respective vendor
Ensure all requests that need SSI interaction are resolved in a timely fashion and in the best interests of the company and employees
Using pre:defined project guidelines facilitate the administration of the yearly benefits open enrollment process, after each process is completed revisit project guidelines and make changes as necessary to improve future processes Establish formal process to outline what is needed when new subsidiaries participate in our benefit plans
Using formal process work with our counterparts to ensure smooth transition for both the company and their employees
Work with HR/Benefits at the newly acquired company to pass along best practices and ensure new administrators are properly trained
First point of contact for internal and external
audit/legal/compliance benefit requests to include providing necessary documentation and reporting
Develop processes to streamline and resolve all benefit reporting matters
Create reports to track benefits costs and provide information to HR Managers when costs vary from established normal levels
Ensure that all benefit costs are reconciled and that finance receives requests for payments in a matter that meets the payment terms
Utilize Kronos resources to ensure we are using the system in the best manner to accurately process transactions

Job Specifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree
Experience:
3:5 years direct benefit administration experience
Specialized Skills:
Kronos, Microsoft Suite of Products
Certifications:
CBP, SHRM, etc. preferred
