The Development Associate (DA) is responsible for providing critical administrative and strategic support to the operations of the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation to acheive its objectives in: 1) Fundraising 2) Sanfilippo community support 3) Awareness, all with the ultimate goal of curing Sanfilippo Syndrome. The DA will provide well-organized, timely, and accurate support at the direction of, and assistance to, the Executive Director (ExD). This position will be in direct delegation of the ExD. The DA will also work with the Leadership team to assist with development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. The DA should be creative and enjoy working in a fast paced and results driven environment.


Requirements

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Two years of relevant experience in organizing operations and business management with a successful level of achievement. Experience in Non-profit work highly preferred, but not absolutely required.

Location: Based in/near Columbia, SC

-- Fundraising. Some fundraising experience helpful

-- Computer Skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Social Media experience required (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc..) Quickbooks or other Accounting Tool experience helpful. Donor Management experience helpful.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor Stewardship (40%)

•Manage correspondence with donors including Thank You Letters, donor receipts, etc..
•Source new Donor management tool and manage and consolidate donor databases
•Create ad hoc lists of donor queries as needed by the ExD (Top 100 by lifetime gift amount, Top 100 by # gifts, etc..)
•Process matching donor requirements
•Manage personal relationship emails as needed for specific campaigns or events, as requested by ExD
•Create strategies for better Donor engagement, retention and stewardship
•Work with ExD to create and execute social media strategy
•Assist on Foundation Social media content and response/engagement
•Work with ExD to create framework and content for Annual Report

Administrative and Operational Management (25%)

•Manage PO Box mail pick up, process, deposit, and record checks
•Vendor management and procurement including printing, stationary, graphic design,and merchandise (as needed)
•Oversight of financial management including banking, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
•Work with ExD to create business reporting benchmarks and goal thresholds for Foundation

Volunteer Relationships (15%)

• Cultivate and attract new volunteers and manage established volunteers
• Work with the ExD on regular Sanfilippo Family conference calls – determining time,
topics, etc.; creating agenda and providing timely notice to families; creating materials
for conference calls and providing them to call attendees; completing any follow-up
necessary from conference calls.
• At the direction of the ExD, assist in handling and/or responding to Sanfilippo Family
inquires.
• Work with Sanfilippo Families partnered with the Foundation to ensure updated family
information is on the Foundation’s website.
• Organize Foundation forms and templates for easy access to family
• Using best in class templates, create Foundation Volunteer handbook and
expectations/requirement forms
• Create strategies for better Volunteer engagement, retention, and stewardship

Board Support (10%)

• Work with the ExD on quarterly board meeting conference calls – determining time,
topics, etc.; creating agenda and providing timely notice to board members; creating
materials for Board meetings and providing them to directors; completing any follow-up
necessary from Board meetings.
• Record minutes from Foundation Board meetings.

Governance (5%)

• Manage regulatory compliance including insurances, tax & accounting deadlines,
fundraising licenses, etc..
• Manage compliance to State fundraising requirements, working with our 3rd party
vendor

Foundation Personnel Support (5%)

• Provide support to ExD and Scientific Advisor, including coordinating meetings and
travel arrangements, calendar
